WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
The Goat That Stayed With Us
When my brother and I were young, we had a small goat farm in our village. We had 19 goats, and to us, they were more than animals. They were part of our everyday life, our childhood, and in many ways, our family.
Among them was one extraordinary mountain goat. He was strong, fearless, and full of character. While the other goats stayed together, he was always different. Whenever we took them out to feed, he would wander toward the hills, climbing steep paths and crossing difficult terrain as if the mountains belonged to him. We would watch in amazement as he found his way through places that seemed impossible for us to reach. Nothing seemed to frighten him.
To us, he wasn’t just another goat.
He was special. We were only children, but somehow we understood that there was something different about him. His strength, courage, and freedom left a lasting impression on us.
He became more than a goat we cared for.
He became a part of our family — and a memory that stayed with us long after he was gone.

Years later, my brother and I found ourselves sitting together, talking about our village, our childhood, and the goats that had once been such an important part of our lives.
Then we remembered him — the remarkable mountain goat we had never quite forgotten. We remembered the way he climbed steep and difficult paths without hesitation. We remembered his fearless spirit, his strength, and the way he seemed to adapt naturally to every place he went. Most of all, we remembered how much we missed him after he was gone. That simple conversation brought back something we thought belonged only to our childhood. And then came a question:What if we could carry his spirit with us?
